Saudi Aramco Delays LPG Deliveries Until May

Saudi Aramco has reportedly extended the suspension of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) deliveries from its Ju'aymah facility through the end of May 2026. This extension follows a series of operational setbacks that began earlier this year.

Key Factors Behind the Delay

Infrastructure Damage: The initial suspension in February was caused by structural damage to a trestle pipeline system used for loading propane and butane.

Recent Complications: Repair efforts were further hampered by a fire at the facility earlier this month.

Geopolitical Context: The ongoing regional conflict and restrictions in the Strait of Hormuz have compounded supply chain issues, making it difficult to reroute or expedite shipments.

Impact on the Market

The Ju'aymah terminal is a critical hub, handling roughly 3.5% of global seaborne LPG. The prolonged shutdown has led to:

Price Surges: Aramco significantly increased its official selling prices for April, with propane rising by 38% ($750/ton) and butane by 48% ($800/ton).

Supply Crunch in Asia: India and Southeast Asia, which rely heavily on these exports for cooking fuel and petrochemical feedstock, are facing a severe supply

squeeze.
