Iran’s Complete Shutdown Threat to U.S ?

Iran Warning ⚠️

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and Iran’s Parliament Speaker, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, issued a counter-warning on Sunday:

1.Total Blockade:

Iran stated the Strait would be "completely closed" immediately upon any U.S. strike and would not be reopened until their power plants are fully rebuilt.

2.Regional Retaliation:

Tehran warned that if its energy grid is hit, it will treat energy and water desalination plants in neighboring Gulf countries (that host U.S. bases) as "legitimate targets."

3.Targeting Tech/Finance:

Iranian state-linked media also released lists of U.S.-linked companies and infrastructure in the region, including tech offices and financial entities, as potential retaliatory targets.

*Global Impact

The Strait of Hormuz is main route for roughly 20% of the world's oil and LNG supply.

Oil Prices: Crude prices have surged following the ultimatum, with analysts warning they could exceed $100 per barrel if a full blockade occurs.

Regional Conflict: This escalation comes amid the ongoing war that began on February 28, 2026. Military activity is high, with Iranian missile strikes recently reported near nuclear research sites in Israel.

Current Status: The 48-hour clock is currently ticking. International leaders (including the UK, France, and India) have called for an immediate moratorium on attacks against civilian infrastructure to prevent a total regional blackout or global energy crisis.
